Ok western conference, giddy up.
We have a battle of the Lone Star state vs Canada’s equal to the Lone Star State.
Dallas VS Edmonton, these two teams also met three times in the regular season and met as recently as April 3rd where Dallas throttled Edmonton 5-0. Dallas also took 2/3 games during the regular season.
Dallas has it all, depth, young stars and stars in the making, plus a good defence core and goaltending. Something Edmonton has lacked throughtout these playoffs. The Stars Jake Oettinger has been fantastic throughout these playoffs posting a .918 save percentage with a 2.18 goals against average.
His counterpart Stuart Skinner meanwhile has a .881 save percentage and a 3.29 goals against average and has been pulled when not reliable.
Skinner also has gotten by just doing the bare minimum and not screwing up too bad to get Edmonton by and Oettinger has done stuff like this.
WHAT. A. SAVE. JAKE OETTINGER! 🦦#StanleyCupPlayoffs #TexasHockey pic.twitter.com/Lh2hKExpor

Goaltending is truly going to be the difference in this series even with McDavid and Draisaitl as Oettinger has shown he can steal games and make a save in the games biggest moments, meanwhile Skinner hasn’t… Yet, which hey prove me wrong. I think McDavid and Draisaitl can take a game or two but at the end of the day I trust Dallas more to get the overall job done and try to win their first cup since 1999. Stars in 5.

Hi, my name is Griff and I'm a complete sports nut. I love to play sports, watch sports and most importantly bet on sports too. If I'm not watching or betting on sports, you can find me on the golf course, between the pipes as your average beer league goaltender. Although sports take up most of my life, I also love spending time with my two dogs, streaming usually a 90's Simpson's or attempting to read more books.
