A Real Person Named Happy Gilmore Just Qualified To Play D1 Golf
I am very excited to announce that I have committed to continue my academic and golf career at Ball State University. I am very grateful for the opportunity Coach Fleck has given me! I would like to thank my family, my friends and coaches who push me everyday! @BallStateMGolf pic.twitter.com/nz36to47J2

What an extraordinary name and an incredible tale. It’s quite remarkable to receive a good luck quote from Adam Sandler as well. I must admit, I was slightly disheartened to discover that “Happy Gilmore” wasn’t his given name, but rather a nickname bestowed upon him at the age of 6 after emerging victorious in the “Little People’s Golf Championship” tournament.
By the time he turned 12, it had essentially become his official moniker. And, according to his Twitter bio, he certainly knows how to swing. That’s good enough for me.
