America is Bringing Back Child Labour!

I’m no Scotty Trades when it comes to recognizing a trend but something is definitely going on in the United States right now.

There is a significant increase in stories coming from down south that seem to indicate that all those pro-lifers want those babies born and put directly to work.

Earlier this week we covered the story of a McDonald’s in Kentucky getting 10yr olds to work until 2 am for free.

Then there was this story out of Wisconsin.

Fourteen-year-olds in Wisconsin could serve alcohol to seated customers in bars and restaurants under a bill circulated for cosponsors Monday by a pair of Republican state lawmakers.

Under current law, only workers age 18 and above can serve alcohol to customers in Wisconsin. The bill would broaden that to workers ages 14 to 17. They could only serve to seated customers, not drinkers who are at the bar itself.

Ten states have proposed or passed legislation to roll back child labor protections in the past two years, including eight states so far in 2023.

Arkansas passed legislation in 2023 to eliminate age verification and parental or guardian permission requirements.

In Iowa, a bill was passed in 2022 to lower the minimum age of childcare staff and reduce staff-to-child ratios. The state’s Republican majority senate also recently passed a broader bill that enables minors to work in hazardous occupations and extends permitted work hours.

Not only are they pushing to allow kids to work more and longer but they are also pushing to have them work in dangerous fields!

Between the lack of gun control and child labour laws I’m beginning to think maybe all those Christians don’t actually care about kids after all. Not after they are born anyways.
