It was announced early Tuesday morning that Andreas Johnsson would be making his jump to the NHL when he called up from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) to the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL)
The @MapleLeafs have recalled forward Andreas Johnsson from @TorontoMarlies (AHL). In addition, defenceman Calle Rosen has been recalled on emergency basis.

Johnsson has been doing absolutely everything right for the Marlies this season. Currently leading the team with 54 points in 54 games (26g, 28a) it was just a matter of ‘when’ he would get the call up.
The 23-year-old was acquired in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft with the 202nd pick overall in the 7th round.
Head Coach Mike Babcock officially announced that Johnsson would get into the game tomorrow night versus Dallas, and it appears will also get powerplay minutes on the 2nd unit. Johnsson led the Marlies with 8 powerplay goals this season.

Also coming up from the Marlies is Calle Rosen.
With Travis Dermott and Nikita Zaitsev both nursing a case of the flu (according to reports), the necessity to have extra bodies and depth is never more apparent that it is right now.

Rosen, 24 years old, has 17 points in the 50 games he has dressed for the Marlies.
