Auston Matthews chirped back at Brian Burke and it was amazing

Auston Matthews has yet to earn a penny from his new 5-year contract from the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the chatter has already begun he’s leaving the first day the deal expires.
Brian Burke says Matthews is leaving after this contract is up. If Auston Matthews leaves and we even sniff the Stanley Cup I could care less about where he goes. He gave me the chance to see my team at the dance… when if that happens!

This is why the Maple Leafs can’t have anything nice.
Bored much, Burkie?
Matthews caught up with the NHL.com and had this to say about the matter:
I’m not even wasting my time with this one.
Yes, there’s always a chance he heads to the Desert to be the king of hockey and inspire millions of kids to play the game he’s loved his entire life. But, for now, he’s a Maple Leaf, he’s a superstar, and if he wins a Stanley Cup over the next 5 years, you can add his name to legends row.
Matthews the legend, Burkie the loser. Seems about right.
