Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner don’t spend a lot of time together on the ice, but they’re seldom apart off the ice. The dynamic duo is lucky enough to play hockey in the centre of the hockey universe. Not only are you surrounded by passionate fans, you’re surrounded with endless business opportunities.

Matthews jumped behind the camera to follow around ‘Mitchy’ for a day and give us a sneak peek what life is like for these two superstars. The cool thing about the footage is, it was all filmed on Matthews’ iPhone XS. Matthews had this to say about the production:

I just really wanted to give fans something cool to watch that they could relate to and show a more personal and real side to us. A big part of hockey is having a great time with your teammates, working toward and sharing a common goal — winning. You’re in it together. With this, fans get a look into our lives off the ice, our friendship. We’re always using our iPhone to take pics, shoot video in between games or on the road. I hope it makes them want to go shoot their own videos with their friends.

This campaign with Apple was stemmed from a meeting Matthews took with the mega-company during All-Star Weekend in San Jose. It appears his visit at The Apple Campus was a great success.
