Barcelona With @Pokerstars Day 2 & 3: Canadian Vet W PTSD, Big Sexy Chris Rooke Knows How To Exit The Pool

This has seriously been one of the coolest trips I have ever been on.
Here’s why.
I’ve been grinding for a good two years doing this blog and my GF has had to carry us around on her back. She couldn’t come and I did. I feel guilty. I ended up coming (because you’re an idiot if you don’t) and she’s at home doing Design School homework She’s an UNREAL designer and designing stuff now but she’s a brain at that stuff. Norwegian (maybe Scandinavian) Rustic is her jam but she can do literally anything.
She’s been awesome about the whole thing but I love her so I feel bad.
Last night I asked her if she wanted me to send her pics and video’s from the day and she said ‘for sure’. So here’s how that went:
z
Too much? It was the first and only time I’ll be on the Mediterranean Sea so I felt like that would be the thing she’d wanna see. Right?
I’m pretty sure she was kidding. Maybe not because she didn’t say “LOL” or “JK” or put an emoji after with the sideways kissy face, so I’m assuming I should cut it out. Or maybe not because then I feel like I’m hiding something, but that’s weirder. Regardless I had an OK day.

That’s our Producer Chris Rooke. He’s incredible which is where we pick up day on day 2 of our @PokerStars tour stop at Casino Barcelona which is OK (the most beautiful, relaxed, friendly city I’ve ever seen in my LIFE). the history, ease of living combined with the food, I would have regretted not coming if I didn’t get back here until I was 65. No joke.
We started our day in the media room after having a fruit salad cuz the key to traveling healthy is eating well or so my new friend Paul Feinstein ‘World Renown Travel Journalist’ says.
He’s a does “Fodor’s Travel” guide and he’s done everything and been everywhere except outer space. As someone who is risk-averse, Paul is a trip to be around.

He’s one of THOSE guys. He’s been around the world and eaten everything except human and a masterful storyteller. We had him on the podcast and It was a trip. Listen to a man living everyone’s dream right here.
#130 DeanBlundell.com Podcast with Paul Feinstein and Producer Chris
He also tried to make me eat this anchovies cracker business and there was NO chance of that. None. I HATE fish. I just ordered a burger from room service

Anywho, after another podcast, a room service burger & a killer catamaran ride where Chris went full ‘North Bay’, we interviewed Chris Moneymaker. The dude was responsible for making every poker player think they can win a poker tournament. He’ll be in the podcast tomorrow with Daryl Inglis, a Canadian Vet with PTSD who won his way into the tourney. You’ll love the cast.
We finished the night with a poker tourney I got some bad cards. I didn’t know if I could record gameplay but I did anyway. It was so cool to play in a real event. I pretended to be cool but no sunglasses. HOWEVER, I also don’t dump on guys that did like the dude next to me from Poland who WAS wearing sunglasses cuz he owns THE polish Gambling chat site so I respect it.

Bottom line: Barcelona is everything. It's everything you see in pictures. It's a melting pot of euro's who get to live a better lifestyle, or at least that's the consensus from every non-native resident I spoke to.
PokerStars knows exactly what they're doing. exposing the world to the most accessible game on the planet where literally anyone can be a Chris Moneymaker.

ICYMI: The #PSPC is back and will take place in Barcelona, August 20th-24th, 2020.
These five fine folk are the first #PlatinumPass holders, and they won theirs earlier today at #EPTBarcelona.
Get to know them a little better: https://t.co/MxyFJxchz0 pic.twitter.com/Trv2aUt4MK— PokerStars LIVE (@PokerStarsLIVE) August 27, 2019
The entire event was all about rewarding THAT person. Five @PokerStars players from around the world were rewarded handsomely as part of the "Chase your Dream" Contest with the winner taking home €10,000 and Platinum Pass for the 2020 PSPC in Barcelona.
@PokerStars ended up giving one to all five video entrants including our man Daryl from Owen Sound who deserved it more than most. He'll be back all expenses paid by PokerStars cuz as MOYA from PokerStars said, "We loved them all so much, we had too."
That's the sign of a good company.
I'm back tomorrow so I'll leave you with the coolest thing I've seen in my life
La Sagrada Familia.
#LaSagradaFamilia. Lights on, lights off. Most insane architecture on the planet. Under construction since 1892. @PokerStarsLIVE #EPTBarcelona pic.twitter.com/55Xo462IWh
— Dean Blundell (@ItsDeanBlundell) August 29, 2019
Sagrada Familia is the most famous of Antoni Gaudí’s artistic stampede across the Catalan region and this dude was ambitious. Considered his 'Masterpiece, they started building 'La Sagrada Familia" complete with gumballs and doves in 1892 and won't be finished until 2026. Can you imagine being that driven to start something you'll never see the end of?
See you tomorrow. I was gonna hit the public bathroom review at the airport but it's a busy place at 9 am.
Later

One more time for Big Sexy, Chris Rooke.
