Belichick Doesn’t Know if The Patriots Will Run A Different Offense This Season

Jun 9, 2022

Media members that have covered the New England Patriots over the last two decades know that Bill Belichick isn’t ever going to give you anything.

Andrew Callahan sent out a hilarious exchange today, when Belichick responded to a question about the Patriots offense, and Belichick said he didn’t know if New England was going to run a different offense in 2022.

The Patriots have been running the same offense since Tom Brady made his first NFL start in 2001. After drafting Mac Jones with the 15th overall pick, it was a clear indication that New England’s offense was staying the same.

What’s funny about this exchange is, the media asked a question they knew they wouldn’t get, and Belichick’s “I don’t know”, was Belichick just making sure everyone knew what he thought of the question.

Minicamp started Tuesday, and if this is an indication of how things will work with the media, good luck.

Below is this week’s episode of the Dear Pats Nation podcast with Ray Rauth, where Ray, Producer Mike, and Mario give their opinion on Belichick’s exchange with the media, and whether or not the New England Patriots will run a new offense this season. Rauth also touches on whether or not Patriots’ WR Kendrick Bourne maybe spoke out of turn when he discussed New England’s offense, and the potential repercussions for Bourne tipping the Patriots hand.
