Bell CEO Mirko Bibic posted this lengthy statement on LinkedIn (of course, it’s on LinkedIn) late last night. In it, Mirko held up Lisa Laflamme’s firing as a business decision, then firmly threw Michael Melling under the bus. Keep in mind, Mirko rode Michael Melling’s shitty business practices – he hired Michael and LOVED the cost-cutting work of the little ferret.

Cool, Mirko. So you’re getting ready to shift blame from a culture YOU created to Michael Melling, who YOU hired to treat people like shit. For a long time.

And you fired Lisa because ratings are bad, AND Bell is going broke because of Lisa and the assets you own being outdated, and you have no vision for the future. Got it. So it wasn’t her gray hair. 😉

Let’s see what the President of Bell Media had to say:

Wade, here, seems to think Lisa wasn’t “safe and respectful for all” during her time at Bell, and you don’t take that “lightly.”

Mirko says, “Business decision.”

Wade says, “You didn’t have to work with Lisa!”

Now THAT’S a great company with big swinging dicks who are ALL on the same page.

What a well-oiled machine.

One day the president insinuates the biggest PR disaster in their shitty company’s history is Lisa Laflamme’s fault. The CEO says it’s a transition business decision; he’s a lousy planner, AND fuck Michael Melling.

What a time to be alive.

Bell investors have to be thrilled with Bell’s leadership. I know I’d feel a little skittish about handing money to a group of men who have no fucking clue what each other is doing.

There’s a narrative around guys like Mirko and Wade. Regular folks look at media execs like they’re geniuses. They aren’t. They are the guys who juggle balls and lick ass better than most and are rarely hired based on merit. They know someone or a board member needs them as yes-men/women, so they land big gigs they’re unqualified for.

That’s why Wade and Mirko hired Michael Melling. That’s probably why Mirko hired Wade and how most executive hires in broadcasting and media work.

So, incompetence like this shouldn’t be a shocker.
