Bills Sean McDermott is acting like a clown after being out classed by Patriots Bill Belichick

Dec 7, 2021

On a day that was filled with insane weather, Bill Belichick put on a coaching clinic on how to manage a game on prime time, in hostile territory with a rookie quarterback. Sean McDermott blamed his players.

The Monday Night Football game that featured the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills was destined to be a wild game before the opening kickoff.

The host city was experiencing some crazy weather, and wind swirls that made the ball do crazy things basically through the playbook out the window.

Bill Belichick decided the Patriots were going to live and die by the run. New England ran the football 47-times. Rookie quarterback Mac Jones started the game, but New England could have just called anybody down from the stands to be their quarterback. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels called a grand total of three passing plays the entire game. The Patriots literally ran their way to a 14-10 road win over the Bills.

Sean McDermott and the Bills took a different approach and didn’t stray from their regular game plan despite the elements. Josh Allen threw the ball 30-times, while Buffalo only called 19-run plays. Josh Allen ran the ball an additional six times on what would have been passing plays.

After the game everybody expected McDermott, who looked like a gin soaked angry leprechaun for most of the game, to compliment Belichick. We thought perhaps take some accountability for not making adjustments, but he did the exact opposite. Sean McDermott blamed his players for sloppy football, and told the media not to give Belichick so much credit.

Clearly McDermott, who in my opinion should be concerned over his job security after the disastrous second half of the season the Bills are having, can’t handle that Belichick just punked him on his home turf.

This quote here from Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon said a lot about how great Bill Belichick is, and how short Sean McDermott falls as a coach.

Clearly, the Patriots were the much more prepared team. Not just the players, but the coaching staff as well. It also highlighted how under prepared the Bills were for this game, and that is squarely on the shoulders of McDermott.

As the game went on, it became clear to everybody that McDermott was lost, and he had no idea how to adjust to elements of the game, despite how little credit he gives Belichick, and how much he shits on his players.

What I can’t figure out is, is this some type of mind game by McDermott? The more that he blames the wind that his team wasn’t prepared for, the more he belittles Belichick, and the more he blames his players, it shines the spotlight brighter on how inept he was to make adjustments Monday night.

I’m not sure if McDermott is doing this trying to take the attention off his players, or if he was just so mad that his true feelings were coming out.

Whatever it may be, almost everybody on the planet saw what happened last night.

All McDermott had to do was go to the podium, say “Hey, I fucked up, I should have done a better job getting my team prepared for the elements. Shoutout to Bill Belichick, his team knew the game plan and they were prepared.”

If McDermott would have done that, people could have accepted that answer and moved on. It’s not like Buffalo’s season is over. They’re still in a wildcard spot, and they have to face Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl Champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week.

Instead, as McDermott is deflecting blame while people are talking about Belichick being Coach of the Year.

McDermott can say all he wants, at the end of the day he has to live with the fact that he was out coached and outclassed by a guy who called three fucking pass plays the entire game.
