Yesterday the Jays release Tulo precisely 24 hours after saying they expect him on the roster this spring. I personally didn’t give a shit because of the rebuild but the astute baseball eye can see a shitty trend set by the two biggest morons in baseball.
With $38 million left? They couldn't get anything for him, even salary relief? Hard to understand https://t.co/SRB2PTh8lh

#BlueJays have released former All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. He has played just 66 games over the last two seasons and did not play at all in 2018. He's owed $38 million, including his $4 million buy-out for 2021.

Still has $20m owed in 2019, $14m in 2020, and a $4m buyout in 2021. That's a heck of a contract to eat. https://t.co/JWrPwKmCe0

Now Shapiro can turn around and blame this on Anthopolous but eating 40 million when you cry poor and getting FUCKING ZERO in return is terrible, terrible baseball business.
If you want to free up a roster spot by eating 40 million in salary (Jays have cried poor for years btw), that’s fine. Having to eat that shitty cake without even trying to get a player or someone else to pay part of that salary is just plain stupid.
Toronto is eating $38 million in Troy Tulowitzki’s deal. Heel injuries forced him to miss all of the 2018 season, but a straight-up release of Tulowitzki was unexpected to say the least. He’s a free agent now, and he’ll have his pick of teams at the minimum salary.

He gave Josh Donaldson away to Cleveland for some herpes cream and let (albeit very fragile) a 34-year-old walk crippling the cash-strapped Jays without getting 1 dollar in $ relief or a PTBNL. Zero. Zip. Nada.
They never give an explanation.
They never talk publically about moves.
They don’t explain jack shit because they can’t.
Both Mark and Ross are incompetent and if the past 3 years haven’t been able to convince you of their uselessness, maybe walking away from Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki with for a 26-year-old journeyman pitcher for the low cost of $60 Million might help.
