Blue Jays Will Have FULLY VACCINATED Seating At Sahlen Field In Buffalo Starting June 15

Did you miss out on tickets for the Jays-Yankees series June 15th-17th?
Well, the @BlueJays announced that more tickets will be on sale starting May 27th in the fully vaccinated sections for that series! #BuffaloBlueJays #WeAreBlueJays pic.twitter.com/ljqN8BsAhq

This is fucking ridiculous.
Allowing unvaccinated fans into any sporting event after the last 15 months blows my mind. Mind you, the Jays are offering to vaccinate fans at the game so there’s a bit of a silver lining, but it’s still stupid to allow unvaxxed fans to congregate at a baseball game IMO.
‘Fans who are not fully vaccinated are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings at all times’?
Right.
In the best interests of fan and player safety, wouldn’t it make more sense to allow only fully vaxxed people into games? If not, wouldn’t you want to relegate unvaxxed people to certain sections?
NHL teams in the States are doing something similar. Most teams only require a negative test and temperature check upon entry but are segmented into a separate called the ‘no fun zone’ like they do at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.

TSN: Fifty per cent of the seats available will be for vaccinated fans with no social distancing required, while 50 per cent of the seats will be for unvaccinated fans and require distancing of six feet. The Blue Jays say they will allow 35 per cent capacity at the 16,600-seat stadium for the first eight games (June 1 to June 17) in line with New York’s latest guidelines.
As much as I’ve loved seeing fans return to the stands, I cannot believe teams are allowing unvaccinated people into venues.
It openly flies in the face of every effort we’ve made to get out of this mess because leagues are afraid of getting flooded with human rights complaints from people who don’t believe in reality.
It’s like a feather in the cap of conspiracy theorists like these shitheads who harassed and abused kids who were getting vaccinated at a pop-up clinic in Toronto yesterday.
Following this chant, the #antimask #antivaxx protestors began directly addressing the children in line:
“Don’t listen to your parents! They are aren’t keeping you safe!”
Which is a weird message, considering their previous stance was emphasizing parental consent. pic.twitter.com/4FaSrnzZkd

I wouldn’t sit next to these dumb fucks if the tickets were free. And if I was forced to, I don’t know that I’d be able to control myself.
Teams and leagues are fucking petrified to take a hard line with conspiracy theorists and freedom fighter fans so they’re willing to roll the dice.
When Torontonians get back to watching The Leafs, Jays or Raptors in person, I sincerely hope they plan on penalizing fans who refuse to be part of the solution by demanding vaccine passports upon entry.
Most of us have gone to great lengths to stay safe and having to sit in the same arena or ballpark with unvaccinated assholes isn’t at the top of my list of things to do when this is over.
Might as well bring back ‘Smoking Sections too’ It’s probably safer.
