BREAKING: Federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu has just told Senators that, as of midnight ET tonight, all returning Canadian travellers must go into self-isolation. It will be enforced through measures in the Quarantine Act (with penalties including criminal sanctions or fines).

Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland announced the Quarantine measures moments ago and it’s not a suggestion. It’s a threat to obey the law so we don’t turn into New York City.
The Quarantine act has been around since confederation and the important part of the Quarantine Act? It enables authorities to arrest your stupid ass if you decide to break quarantine to grab a few things at Costco before stopping for a coffee on the way home from the airport.
At midnight tonight, if you enter Canada from a foreign country or if you’ve been quarantined with #COVID19, you are either getting thrown in jail for 3 years in jail and a $1m fine.

If you are Canadian and you’re coming home you are now subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine
You are forbidden to use public transit and alternative arrangements can be made through health Canada.
No walks in the park, no trips to the gas station. YOU CANNOT GO ANYWHERE, or you’re fucked.
