They officially need 217 votes but with 9 republicans crossing the floor, it’s just math. It’s over.
Trump will probably serve out his remaining term unless Mitch decided to scream the trial through the senate, and he hates Trump now so that’s a ‘maybe’. Not likely, but maybe.
This means he’ll never be allowed to hold office ever again, too. Democrats own the Senate now so it’s going to happen when the trial begins on the 19th.
