Sometimes we see the most unlikely NFL success stories emerge in the NFL, from Kurt Warner going from bagging groceries to Super Bowl MVP to the beanpole QB from Michigan named Tom who was the 199th pick in the 2000 draft that went on to win 7 Super Bowls, we may have another unlikely Super Bowl Success story in the making with a kid from Arizona named Brock Purdy. Prudy was an Arizona high school powerhouse where He was named Gatorade’s Football Player of the Year and was named high school Football Player of the Year by the Arizona Republic before committing to Iowa State where he was a three-time All-Big 12 quarterback and the holder of 32 school records.

Now his NFL path was different than many starting QBs, he was drafted with the 262 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft known as Mr. Irrelevant t, which meant his roster spot wasn’t guaranteed and he like Tom and Kurt would have to work his tail off. However, this past week it was revealed that in the 2022 Training Camp, the QB3 aka Brock Purdy was the team’s best QB over 1st round pick Trey Lance and the starter Jimmy Garoppolo.

Brock did some cleanup time in week 2 VS Seattle and again in week 7 VS Kansas City, but it wasn’t until week 13 VS Miami when Jimmy Garoppolo went down early with a foot injury, Brock was called into action to help the 49ers win against the Miami Dolphins and on that December Sunday, Brock won the game and became the first ever Mr. Irrelevant to throw an NFL touchdown in a regular season game. So Brock decided to go out and lead San Francisco to a 12-5 record, an NFC West title and the NFC’s number 1 seed. Purdy completed the regular season leading the league in passer rating, total quarterback rating, and yards gained per attempt plus was named the starter for the NFC at the Pro Bowl Games.
