It is hard to be picky about a game where you open the season beating the Super Bowl Champions by over twenty points, however, this game also featured multiple turnovers from a current stable of Buffalo running backs. The Bills added Georgia running back James Cook, brother of Vikings Dalvin Cook, in the second round of this most recent NFL Draft. Every player dreams of a debut in the NFL. For Cook this was a total nightmare.

For years fans have yelled for featuring two running backs in different offensive plays and wouldn’t you know it, James Cook and Devin Singletary found their way on to the field together just in time for Cook to fumble his first NFL touch. He never saw the field again.

Zack Moss and Singletary took over for the rest of the game following the Cook fumble but that wasn’t the only time for the ball to hit the ground; Moss fumbled late in the game as well. Singletary has not exactly been the most sure-handed over his career as it stands. He actually set a career high in fumbles in 2021 which, along with him entering the final year of his contract, may have been the reason Cook was added in the first place.

Regardless, Singletary was head and shoulders the most efficient back against the Rams and while Buffalo will continue to split work amongst the three running backs, Singletary will remain the lead option and rightfully so.
