I’m crushed for these poor people.
When I say ‘these poor people’ I mean ‘these poor business owners’ whose name and cuisine comes from the epicenter of this fucking deadly #Coronavirus.
Business down at Wuhan Noodle restaurant in Markham amid racism, #coronavirus fear. It was plainly baffling to see people make associations between the restaurant that serves food with locally produced ingredients and the disease — all because of its name. https://t.co/wV0A6ebrP9

I won’t tell you to go there nor will I tell you you’re an asshole if you don’t want to go there. But, I will say you shouldn’t let Coronavirus stop you from getting Asian food. I went to ‘Hey Noodles’ last week and the servers were wearing masks which old Dean woulda been concerned with. New Dean knows people who wear masks are doing so to protect you from them as an extremely proactive kindness.
It comes from the outbreak of influenza early in the 20th century that killed 20-40 million people and has been worn as a public courtesy through earthquakes and pandemics ever since.
After The Star reported that Markham’s Wuhan Noodle 1950 was the subject of racist memes and prank calls, I tried their dry hot noodles and fell in love with the sesame-chili goodness.https://t.co/OY8P1u3Sm1

They’ve received hundreds of prank calls and order for ‘poison soup’ when in reality it might be the best bowl you’ll get in Markham. Seriously. Here’s a pro tip: 3 people in Canada have tested positive for it 2 in Vancouver and one in Toronto who was released from hospital healthy as a horse last week so RELAX.
And quit being assholes to the owners.
The only thing worse than a bully is an anonymous bully.
