The Pagani Huayra BC, named for the company’s very first customer, Benny Caiola. It’s a more intense version of an already very intense car. The BC is a racetrack monster built with levels of care and attention that would make a Swiss watchmaker blush. What a machine!
Add Lightness
The BC is 300 lbs lighter than a ‘normal’ Huayra thanks to the use of triaxial carbon fibre. That’s basically a clever weaving technique that makes for stiffer and lighter than other kinds of carbon. The result is body panels that weigh half what they do on the normal Huayra and a lot less mass for the engine to push around.
Add Power Too
What an engine it is too! The twin turbo V12’s been tickled up to 745 hp/811 lb-ft with lightweight parts and tuning. All of its planet-rotation-reversing power is sent to the rear wheels via a bespoke 7 speed sequential manual transmission. A single clutch is used in place of a faster double clutch to save some more weight.
The 20 lucky owners were given a choice of twelve different rubber compounds to make sure their track-focused work of art stays out of the walls. Hell, you’re spending $2.4 million US on a single car. Why not get all of them?
