Danielle Smith’s Alberta: A Government for the Corrupt, By the Corrupt, and Against the People
A BOMBSELL Globe and Mail report on Danielle Smith’s Alberta government enriching themselves while privatizing health care came out yesterday, and every Albertan should be fucking outraged.
It didn’t make any sense when the UCP fired the CEO of AHS and then dismissed the entire board.
Now it does. And Danielle Smith has some explaining to do. #abpoli https://t.co/yLIm2YO378

A scandal of RCMP Investigation proportions is unfolding, exposing the depths of corruption within Danielle Smith’s government. It is nothing short of brazen theft from the taxpayers, enriching a select few while our healthcare system crumbles. How deep does this corruption go? And if Smith is willing to put Alberta’s healthcare in the hands of profiteers, how can we trust that she isn’t selling out Canada itself to American MAGA interests?
Instead of standing up for Canada, Premier Smith just wants to surrender to Trump and his lies.

A Government That Enriches Itself at the Expense of Albertans
The revelations are staggering. Alberta Health Services (AHS) has been forced to halt new contracts following allegations of blatant corruption and insider dealing. The facts are damning:
- Former AHS CEO Athana Mentzelopoulos was fired after investigating government contracts that seemed to enrich Smith’s inner circle.
- She directly named Marshall Smith, Chief of Staff, to Danielle Smith to approve outrageously priced contracts for private surgical providers to companies associated with Mr Smith.
- Companies like MHCare Medical, which has received over $614 million in contracts, appear to be deeply involved with Smith’s allies.
- A $70-million contract for children’s pain medications, later flagged for safety concerns, is among the sketchy deals benefiting government-connected insiders.
Smith and her administration would have Albertans believe this is all just a misunderstanding. But the details paint a picture of a government hijacked by special interests, siphoning public funds into private pockets.
This is More Than Just Corruption—It’s a Criminal Enterprise
If these allegations prove true, Danielle Smith and her administration could face serious legal consequences, including:
- Fraud – If it is proven that officials knowingly misled Albertans to benefit themselves or their allies financially.
- Breach of Trust – When high-ranking officials abuse their power to funnel money into private hands.
- Corruption – If bribery, favoritism, or insider dealings are uncovered in these contracts.
The RCMP is investigating, and the pressure is mounting. Premier Smith, Health Minister Adriana LaGrange, and Deputy Minister of Health Andre Tremblay must answer to the people. Resignations are not enough—there must be full accountability.
Here’s Sam Mirache of MHCare
An Alberta father recently pointed out Sam’s questionable ties to Premier Danielle Smith + HUNDREDS of MILLIONS in bogus contracts
In response, Mirache SUED the father—a paramedic—for $7,000,000
Honest Question: What is Sam trying to hide? https://t.co/VNzmy3q8U5 pic.twitter.com/cTzAEcxJBv

Is Smith Selling Out Alberta to American Interests?
Smith’s corruption isn’t just about provincial health contracts. Her actions increasingly align Alberta with American Republican interests over Canadian priorities:
- She opposed the Canada Pension Plan and openly considered an “Alberta-only” plan that financial experts warned would destabilize retirement security.
- She undermined Canada’s climate policies, siding with oil lobbyists and U.S. Republican talking points against transitioning to cleaner energy.
- She defied Ottawa on healthcare negotiations, delaying federal funding while prioritizing sweetheart deals for private health providers.
- She has consistently echoed MAGA rhetoric, attacking national institutions while pushing for policies that erode Canadian federalism in favor of Alberta separatist posturing.
Is Danielle Smith setting the stage for a long-term play to align Alberta with far-right American interests? If she is this corrupt with health contracts, why wouldn’t she be selling out Alberta’s future to Republican-aligned corporate interests? The pattern is clear: Smith and her government willingly sacrifice Albertans for their benefit.
Albertans Deserve Justice
The depth of this scandal cannot be overstated. This isn’t just political mismanagement but organized corruption at the highest levels. If these allegations are true, Smith and her enablers should resign and face SEVERE legal consequences.
Albertans deserve leaders who serve the people, not themselves. The time for action is now. The NDP, led by Naheed Nenshi, has called for resignations and accountability, but it is ultimately up to the people of Alberta to demand justice. If this government gets away with it, what will they try next?

We must ask ourselves: If Danielle Smith is willing to rig Alberta’s healthcare for personal gain, what else is she willing to sell off?
