DB2 BETS: John Deere Classic Action + MLB Unders
We here at the Down By Two podcast take sports betting very seriously, almost to a fault.
We crunch numbers, study analytics, line shop and gather as many hot takes from our dumbass friends to give our best bets every week with the certified ‘DB2’ stamp of approval.
All that, just for you, our listeners. Sometimes, you even take our advice and win a couple bucks. Sometimes, you don’t listen and do the opposite, and win a lot more money.
Well, Jesse and I thought that it would be a good idea to keep a better paper trail and highlight our picks of the week, every week, starting now.
Every Friday, we’re going to highlight our top picks, with the best odds from every sportsbook (using the Betstamp App) and post about why we took them. We feature some of our good pals from across the industry to jump on and give us their takes and their wagers.
For our first one however, we’re kicking it off a day early because we had to slip in a wager before the John Deere Classic starts.
Here’s what we got.
Adam Hadwin To Place Top 10 (+275)
Best Odds: theScore Bet
This one isn’t just me cheering for a good ol’ Canadian boy from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Hadwin has been playing some stellar golf as of recently, coming very close to winning his second PGA title in Detroit.
TPC Deere Run will lead to a low scoring round which will bode well for his approach game. Not to mention his putting, which has been absolutely dialed, Hadwin seems like an overlooked favourite going into this weekend. I’d consider pivoting to the canuck over some of the other bigger names.
Find Adam Hadwin to win the tournament outright at +2200 odds.

Cardinals/Marlins Under 8.5 Runs (-125)
Best Odds: Proline+
Expect the odds to change here and find better value and even a higher over under closer to game time. Now, the last few games have destroyed the over but there is a better pitching matchup squaring off. With Flaherty and Perez (both 5-2) taking the mound, expect a tighter game. Despite Perez’s last outing, the young stud has allowed just one run with a 38:9 K:BB in 33 innings.
As much as I do love my Cardinals, I’ll likely also take the Marlins on the moneyline at -125 (PowerPlay).
That’s it for now, let’s keep it simple for this first of many.
Happy Thursday to you all.
