After taking a couple weeks off and winning some bucks down at the Honda Indy Toronto, we’re back with a couple diamond picks and our first ever WNBA pick.

This year in MLB, the unders have been treating us really well. When taking the under for run totals they’ve hit 70% of the time. The formula is simple, find decent pitching matchups with a high enough run total and take the under.

Side note, when looking at the under, it would be wise to look at the pitcher’s strikeout line and tease the over. Might as well if you’re placing money on a good pitching matchup.

1. Twins / Royals Under 9.5 Runs (-110)

Best Odds: FanDuel

This is a pretty decent pitching matchup with Sonny Gray (4-4) and Brady Singer (6-8) taking the mound. Gray, who’s been having a decent year, brings an ERA of 3.15, whereas Singer weighs in at 5.55. Not big strikeout pitchers but expect them to each respectfully hold their own.

In terms of offense, the Royals are second worst in the MLB whereas the Twins are below league average. This helps our case with keeping the run total below 10.

2. A’s / Rockies Under 11 Runs (-110)

Best Odds: DraftKings

No deep insight here, these are two of the worst offenses in all of baseball. The Athletics are dead last and the Rockies are the 3rd worst. So yeah, this one should hit the under.

I’m surprised that the under is at 11 runs, as I’ve seen it set at 11 quite often with the Rockies playing at home. I guess the ball carries more at Coors Field? Still, with the lowly A’s in town, I wouldn’t expect much action. 

I’d get into the pitching matchup, but does it really matter when it’s these two?

3. New York Liberty -13.5 (-125)

Best Odds: Proline+

The best team in the Eastern conference is facing the very mid Minnesota Lynx. While covering 13 points may seem a bit steep, the Liberty should not have a problem putting away the Lynx at home.

Our only worry is that this is the second game of a back-to-back for the Liberty as they took care of business against the Atlanta Dream Thursday night. Still, when a team is this heavily favored in the WNBA, it means it should be an easy enough win.
