Dean: An Open Letter To Jamie Sale (And Theo Fleury, Kind Of)

Sep 21, 2022
|||||||||

Jamie Sale had a day yesterday.

Canada generally stayed away from mocking her during the Pandemic. She was a Canadian hero and Olympic Gold medalist who lost everything after going full-on paranoid anti-vax, anti-science, satanic pedo cabal, Qanon.

Yesterday she hit a wall retweeting a fake Trudeau tweet demanding he is tried for treason crimes against humanity, and SHE WAS, CRUSHED.

I decided to write a letter to Jamie and post it here because I know she’ll read it. She watches the show, and I want to talk directly to her this morning.

Jamie,

The last two years have hurt a lot of people. We’ve had two pandemics: a physical pandemic and an emotional pandemic.

The emotional Pandemic has destroyed more lives than the physical Pandemic.  Our politics and wrong information are to blame.

I like you. The rest of Canada likes you. They are scared for you like I am.

You have so many incredible gifts. You’re bubbly, fun, empathetic, helpful, loving, loyal, and hopeful.  I see that hope in your tweets, and I’ve talked to you several times over the past 20 years, so I know you are all of these good things.

You were an icon to so many and still can be, but you need to escape from whatever reality you think you’re living in.  You’ve been lied to and taken advantage of. Manipulated into an ideology telling you to destroy your life experience by turning your back on loved ones, friends, and family. You can’t see it, but you’ve been radicalized into giving your life away to a religious movement that’s not based on reality, love, kindness, or hope.

Yes, Trudeau has politicized the Pandemic.

So has Pierre. Every party has, and none are worth your support.

But they don’t matter.  You do. You always have. So has Theo.

You’ve both been co-opted into an unsustainable movement where you do their heavy political lifting, so they don’t have to be accountable.

They are using your faith in God to fight their battles, and they are feeding you lies in hopes you and your celebrity status can help keep that house of cards up, and it’s killing you.

You’ve lost your family, friends, and any reputational capital you had as one of the most celebrated Olympians making what should be a beautiful life experience a nightmare for yourself and the people who love you the most.

Jamie, please get help. God isn’t going to make your life better. You can by putting your hand up and asking for a life audit from a trained psychiatric professional qualified to help people through this kind of confusion. And I know you’re confused.

Ask yourself this question: What kind of religion or movement encourages you to throw away this life for the afterlife?

The answer? A fake one.

What kind of religion encourages you to turn your back on the people you say you love the most for a conspiracy theory you can’t prove or don’t understand? A fake one.

Jamie, I know you want to be happy and to have a good life experience. Still, you’re choosing Narnia over the objective reality of life because you’ve been manipulated into it.

No one wants the great Jamie Sale to be a pandemic footnote. Same with Theo, but he’s getting paid.

Get a therapist. Contact a close friend and ask for help. Remove yourself from the churn and get back to being a mother to two beautiful sons, a friend, and a daughter.  It’s never too late to get better, and you are not a lost cause.

You’re Jamie Sale, Olympic Gold Medalist who loves as hard as she competes. It just so happens everything you love isn’t real, and shitty people are using that love to do shitty things, and none of those people care about you. They just care that you give them your reputation so they can stand on your shoulders and call themselves tall.

We’ve all gone through the same experience, and there are LOTS of good people around you who want you to be happy. You know that.

Lean on those people and take a knee from being used as puppets.

For your kids’ sake.

90% of this country doesn’t want anything from you other than for you to be happy.

DB
