I’ve really tried hard to stay away from definitive, toxic statements lately. I’m fairly certain we don’t need another negative take on a negative subject in a sea of negativity swimming with a bunch of willingly ignorant fucks.

I realized this year that I can’t control the world around me so I need to control my response to it.  Seriously.

Over the last two years, we’ve been dealing with, running from, and trying to get a handle on how to protect all Canadians from a virus responsible for more deaths than the second world war. in 1/4 of the time.

We’ve developed vaccines that provide  80-90% better chance of surviving all known variants of concern.  The best scientific minds on planet earth and every school and public health authority in our province all say vaccine passports work.  Vaccines, vaccine certificates/passports for 200 years and much like you can’t go to Africa without diphtheria or malaria shot, you couldn’t come into Canada without certain vaccines and still can’t.

Doug Ford and Christine Elliott know all of this and still don’t care.

They know the safest way to live with the virus, protect the vast majority of Ontarians, rescue the economy and keep our kids mentally healthy, is with vaccine passports and mandatory vaccines for health care workers and teachers.

Yet, they still won’t mandate any of it.

Our premier hasn’t been around for over a month while the dominant delta variant is on the rise.  Our minister of health has an assistant put out mealy-mouthed covid numbers every day that doesn’t matter.

The Conservative government has no back-to-school plans and is placing a gag order on kids’ vaccine status.

722 new cases today. Vast majority unvaccinated. Kids in school in 2 weeks. No vaccine mandates for anything in Ontario. @fordnation and @celliottability are terrible fucking people who don’t value human life or the greater good.

We have detailed information like every other public health authority across North America, but Doug and Christine don’t want to spoil one vote so they refuse to publish it.  My friend and front-line worker Brad Hopper gave us a simple chart from Oregon today.  This is the kind of info that people who want to be part of the solution need, but Doug and Christine aren’t having it.  They want to keep us in the dark to justify NOT doing the right thing for the greater good and that’s easier to do if we know less.

We’re 3 weeks into the fourth wave and if Doug Ford and Christine Elliott get their way, they lock the entire province down again to protect the fucking idiots who refuse to get vaccinated.  That group amounts to 10-15% of the province’s eligible voters and the VAST majority of those dicks vote for Doug because he’s one of them.  So is Christine.

In choosing their preventive position on mandatory vaccines, they’re telling us they do NOT CARE about your kid’s life.  They don’t care about character or integrity and they aren’t fit to govern human beings.

If they did their actions would match their words and they don’t.

We’ve picked our leaders according to resumes and words.  Rarely do we choose self-governance based on integrity or character.   That’s why we’re fucked.

We’re paying the tax that comes with voting for criminal assholes.
