Who Deserves it More? Wife-Beater Mayweather or Shit-Talking McGregor?

Welcome back to my “Who Deserves it More” series. If you’re new here, let me stop you right now and get you to read the incarnation of my series here that started between Subban and Crosby for the Stanley Cup.

Done reading? Fantastic. You’re already better than Mayweather.

Now this is an article that will rank Mayweather vs McGregor in aspects that aren’t really discussed on mainstream media. I’m here for your entertainment, not to regurgitate the shit that those “analysts” say. With just under 12 hours to go before the big fight, I’m here to help settle friendly debates and help you look like a genius.

There’s only one right analysis, and it’s this one. So strap in, shut the hell up, and let’s get right into it. God I’m fired up.

Ranking: Mayweather vs McGregor

I’m going to keep most of the same elements from my previous “who deserves it more” analysis, but incorporate some new ones as well. Time to spice it up.

Style

If you have had a chance to catch any of footage of their grandioso world tour, you would have noticed two completely contrasting styles. Floyd is always sporting his signature TMT brand either in tracksuit form or with a nice “Toronto flag” t-shirt. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Watch.

Idiot.

McGregor comes out in style. Whether he’s rocking gorgeous three-piece suits like you see in that video, or sporting king’s cloths, to even having his little baby all suited up, this man has the style game locked up.

Holy swag.

Let’s not forget his two most infamous, controversial styles to date. The “Fuck You” pinstripe suit and the CJ Watson jersey.

That CJ Watson jersey was the most true definition of savage I’ve seen in a long time. Way more than what these white girls call savage these days. “Omg he skipped class what a savage.” No, not a savage, just a fucking idiot. McGregor is sporting the jersey of the man that fucked his wife at the time. That’s a true savage.

McGregor style game is advanced beyond his years and Mayweather’s isn’t. You already knew who was taking this point home.

Score: McGregor – 1, Mayweather – 0

Popularity

Okay this one is actually really tough. I felt that McGregor was the more popular fan vote, but after watching two American sports TV shows, both polls had fans split 50-50 on who they wanted to win. So, this is where my complete expert analysis in the realm of fighting comes in.

I had to do some digging, more than any analyst in the world would. So, I went all the way back to the May-Mac World Tour. I looked where nobody else thought to look. See, all eyes were on Floyd and Conor, but my eyes were focused on the people. The ones that make this even possible.

There was not one stop on the tour that was pro-Mayweather. It felt like every time that man went talk shit about raining dollar-bills on strippers or feeling like he’s 20 again, the people would boo over him. Even at the weigh-in last night, the crowd was extremely pro-McGregor. Side note, was McGregor on some drugs, cause like what the hell is this…

What a freak…still, gotta hand this one off to the Irish king, but by a small margin.

Score: McGregor – 2, Mayweather – 0

Likeability

Don’t get it twisted…popularity and likeability are NOT the same thing. Took some heat for that in my last article but I sent them all a copy of the Oxford Dictionary. Haven’t heard a peep since. Now that that’s settled, this category is a little bit easier to discern.

Conor has taken a lot of heat from being a cocky little prick. I used to hate it, but it almost becomes amusing when he can talk the talk AND walk the walk. You are allowed to be cocky when you’re that good, and nobody besides Nate Diaz has been able to shut him up.

Here are some of his more finer moments:

If you questioned my style champion, two things:

  1. Get the hell outta here right now
  2. Watch the above video

Conor has come from collecting welfare cheques just five years ago to being one of the most recognizable athletes in sport today. Respect the grind

Now, on to Pretty Boy Floyd. The man has also built a massive empire, one that makes McGregor’s look like a toy castle. His literal mountain of cash that he sits on wasn’t built overnight, but through hard work and dedication to boxing. He is arguably the best boxer the world has ever seen. However, that doesn’t mean he’s likeable.

Mayweather has been involved in a few scandals over the years, but none as jaw-dropping as his domestic violence case. Saying that, it wasn’t his first case. No, there have been many. You can read the chronicled history of them here. Now in my household, I was raised to never lay a hand on a woman, and always treat them with respect. I’m sure that’s how most of you reading this expert analysis were raised too. Having violence traits that Mayweather possesses instantly make him unlikeable to me.

While I didn’t like either fighter for a while, Conor has grown on me. Even if he hadn’t, I would rather cheer for somebody who’s cocky over someone who beats women.

Score: McGregor – 3, Mayweather – 0

Risk

This is a category that I’ve heard arguments for both sides about. As the only expert opinion that matters, I’m here to settle this debate once and for all.

There are fans and experts that claim that McGregor is risking his respect and legacy by switching into boxing for this match, knowing he is an underdog. While that may be true, the biggest risk of all belongs to Mayweather. Floyd is expected to win, so much so that a $100 bet will win you $25 (-400 odds according to Bodog). This is his discipline, his ring, his gloves, his style. He has a 49-0 record on the line, and while most expect him to claim the 50th win, it’s not that easy. If Conor loses, most fans will say “oh well, he wasn’t expected to win anyways, good on him for trying.” If Mayweather loses it might sound something like “HOLY FUCK, CHOKE! THIS GUY CHOKED MORE THAN THE WARRIORS 3-1 LEAD WHAT A FUCKING BUM!!11!1!1!!” The internet, in particular Twitter, will absolutely lose it, and probably crash.

Pretty boy, you’re finally on the board.

Score: McGregor – 3, Mayweather – 1

Conclusion

I’m pretty sure that in the made-up rulebook of hard hitting expert journalism, the first rule states to avoid bias. Well, I never went to journalism school so, I don’t play by the rules.

I’m going to be blunt here. Fuck Mayweather. I may respect his hustle and grind to the top of the boxing world and the empire he’s built, but he’s a true fucking scum. Does he deserve to win? Absolutely not.

McGregor has entertained the fans at every May-Mac event. Not only is he cocky, but he’s a master in mental warfare. I don’t know how much of that effects Mayweather, because he probably doesn’t have much up there.

Good thing Mayweather can’t read, wouldn’t want him to be shook by my expert analysis that he is sure to not read before the fight.

What do you think about that, Conor?

I hope that when McGregor knocks out Floyd in round four that he drops his drawers and gives him a proper t-bagging like a 12 year old online gamer. Wouldn’t put it past this savage to do that.

There you have it folks. Based on my analysis I can safely say that McGregor deserves it, and when they deserve it, they will win it. Just don’t look at the results of my last article though, that was an anomaly.
