Wow. When you’re hot, you’re hot; when you’re not, you’re not. That’s a Jerry Reed song for those of you who aren’t a fan of classic country music such as myself. Week 2 was a very mediocre week for me. I went 7-8-1 this past week. It’s kind of embarrassing. Here’s what I learned.
Neither the Panthers or Falcons can be trusted
Both of these teams are week-to-week. The Falcons were terrible in the redzone in Week 1, yet somehow put up 31 points against a very solid Panthers defence. And yet that same Panthers defence that held the Cowboys offence to just 8 points in Week 1 was burned for 31 points by the Falcons. The point of this story: don’t trust either of these teams.
Texans Toast
Texans fans came into this season with a lot of hope. They have a young quarterback, who played lights out last season and a defence that can go toe-to-toe with any high-powered offence. As we enter Week 3 though the Texans are 0-2. To add insult to injury, they lost to a Blaine Gabbert led Titans. Ouch.
Spider-Two-Y-Banana sucks
When Jon Gruden was hired in Oakland, I was excited. I thought he would bring them back to the playoffs, and give Oakland fans something worth watching before shipping off to Las Vegas. That is not the case. In Week 1 the Raiders were beat up by the Rams, and then narrowly lost to the Broncos in Week 2. The Raiders suck. Plain and simple.

Games to Watch
Saints vs. Falcons
Offence. Plain and simple. On paper this should be a high scoring game. The Saints dug themselves out of a hole last week to beat the Browns. And the Falcons always have the ability to score points with Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. Both defences are kind of shoddy, so we should be in for a fun game.
Broncos vs. Ravens
These are two solid, well-rounded teams. Both teams have the capability of putting up points, and both teams have the ability to shut offences down. It will be interesting to see what Ravens offence we get this weekend. If we get the offence that showed up Week 1 and in the second-half of last weekends game then we should be in store for a great game.
Steelers vs. Buccaneers
We’re going to learn something in this game. We’re either going to learn that the Steelers are still the Steelers, or that Fitz-Magic is real. In two-games this season, Fitzpatrick has thrown for 800+ yards and 8 touchdowns with just 1 interception. The Steelers have also put up their fair share of points, but have suffered back-to-back losses in the first two-weeks of the season.
