Don’s Picks: Week 15

Dec 13, 2018
|

I have no idea what is going on in the NFL right now. I can be honest with you. It’s mayhem. The Dolphins beat the Patriots. The Browns beat the Panthers. The Raiders beat the Steelers. It’s anarchy right now. This is as bad as it gets for someone trying to pick games.

Takeaways

The Browns are a dark horse

The Browns don’t give a fuck right now. They will destroy your picks and your dreams. When you think they’re gonna beat a team they don’t. And when you think they won’t, they do. They’re a wildcard. They show these glimpses of greatness week-to-week. I like the Browns. Enough that I’m gonna pick em against Denver this week. Count it.

The Bears are no joke

The Bears are the Browns of the NFC. They’re on the cusp of being really good, but aren’t quite there yet. That makes them very dangerous. Mitchell Trubisky is showing the he has a future in this league. He has 21 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions, and has a completion percentage of 65. They won’t win anything this season, but will be potential contenders in seasons to come.

The Cowboys don’t suck

They’re not great. But they don’t suck. Their defence is out of this world. They’re currently ranked second in points scored and fourth in yards. Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith have been plugging holes at linebacker for them. The offence however, not as great. In fact they’re ranked 23rd overall. It’s not last, but it’s less than mediocre.

Games to Watch

Chargers vs. Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes vs Philip Rivers is going to be off the chain. These quarterbacks have a combined 72 touchdowns on the season. That’s a lot of touchdowns. Philip Rivers is a Hall of Fame quarterback. If you don’t agree, you’re an idiot. So he’s going to give this young stud everything he can handle from the Chargers offence. There will be touchdowns and it’s going to be glorious.

Patriots vs. Steelers

Both of these teams lost to shit teams last week. So both of these teams will be looking for redemption. Tom Brady and Big Ben are two of the best to have ever done it. So you know they’re going to come out slinging. My brain says the Patriots but my gut says the Steelers. The Steelers do have home field advantage, so fuck it, I’m going on a gut and a prayer.

Saints vs. Panthers

On paper this is a great game. The Saints are as good as it gets. Drew Brees has thrown 31 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions, which is fucking insane. Cam Newton isn’t having as good a season but has still thrown 24 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions. The question mark is whether or not the Panthers can actually keep up. If they can’t beat the Browns, why would they beat the Saints?
