I hate to brag. But I have to. When you go 11-3 on your weekly picks, it comes with a little bit of bragging rights. And it’s my article, or blog, whatever this is really; so I’m gonna gloat a bit. I’ll put my numbers against anyones.
In fact; I’ll specifically put my numbers against the team over at CBS. Take a look below. My 63-42-2 record is right in line with or better than people who’s F@#%ING job is to pick football games. These guys have every stat, every highlight, everything to help them make picks. I’ve got theScore app and a six-pack of Coors.
Hit bricks gentlemen.
Don’s Takeaways
Eli Manning doesn’t suck as much as I thought
He still sucks. He’s definitely past his prime, but he’s not entirely to blame for the Giants lack of productivity. After watching highlights, I was convinced Eli was the problem. He wasn’t mobile, he’s wasn’t throwing the ball accurately, and OBJ & Barkley seemed to be carrying the team on their back. After watching the Giants game this past weekend, I realized why. Although Eli is immobile, and a sitting duck in the backfield; his offensive line is F@#%ING atrocious. He has no time. Which in turn is why he isn’t throwing the ball accurately. Eli should definitely retire soon, because his lack of mobility is a serious issue without an offensive line problem; but trying to blame the Giants woes on Eli Manning is a lazy excuse. My bad Eli.
WTF; The Bears almost beat the Patriots
Those are words I never thought I’d say. Are the Bears legit? I have to think so after what I saw this weekend. They were literally inches away from scoring at the end of the game, which if they would’ve hit the extra-point would’ve tied the game. Mitchell Trubisky went ham in this game. The man threw for 300+ yards and two touchdowns, as well as rushed for 80+ yards and another touchdown. He literally had 40+ more rushing yards than his starting running back. His impressive performance alone is why I’m picking the Bears over the Jets this week.
F@#% it. I’m in on the Lions
I grew up just outside of Windsor & Detroit, so the Lions are my team. They’ve been SO bad, for SO long. After watching a team go 0-16 and become the joke that they’ve become, it’s been extremely hard for me to take this team seriously. But they beat the Patriots, they beat the Dolphins, maybe this team is legit. The Lions have had only a single running back rush for 100 yards in a game just once in something like 10 years; this season we’ve seen Kerryon Johnson rush for 100 yards in a game twice. I don’t know what Matt Patricia is selling this team, but I’m in.

Games to Watch
Broncos vs. Chiefs
That offence. Of course I’m talking about the Chiefs. That alone is why you should watch this game. Patrick Mahomes is a monster. He throws rockets in the pocket, he throws missiles on the run. This kid literally can throw the ball 60 yards at any point, anywhere on the field. He’s a freak. And he’s surrounded by weapons. And he has the best offensive mind in all of football as a head coach. Then add in the fact that they have a solid defence. This team is something to watch. And what about the Broncos? Who cares. Enjoy the blowout. It’s gonna be fun.
Packers vs. Rams
Aaron Rodgers vs. Jared Goff? Yes please. The Rams will obviously win this game, as they have the better and more complete team. But this is a game to watch because it’s offence vs. offence baby. There will be points and a lot of them. Rodgers is the best quarterback in football. Jared Goff is pretty damn good. And there are playmakers everywhere on both offences. This is a no brainer. Watch it.
Saints vs. Vikings
On Sunday night? BOOM. Drew Brees is only the fourth quarterback to throw 500+ touchdowns in a career. The Saints have a two-headed monster in the back field. The Vikings have Kirk Cousins who has thrown for 4,000+ yards in his last three seasons. And they have Adam Thielen who has caught 100+ yards a game for something like 10 games in a row. Don’t quote me on that stat. I know its been a stretch of games but I’m not fact checking that. You get the point. These are two VERY good offences, and offence means points, which means touchdowns, and we all love touchdowns. Again, watch it.
