DTTB Ep.59 – KEN TIZZARD AND FRIENDS, A MASSIVE COLLABORATION OF GREAT (FAMILIAR) SONGS

How many times have you heard, Dave Grohl “nicest guy in Rock n’ Roll”? Or Sam Roberts “nicest guy in Canadian Rock”?
Well, move over fellas let’s talk to Mr. Ken Tizzard. His resume includes The Watchmen and Thornley, so if the name doesn’t ring a bell, his bass work certainly does.
ALL TOGETHER NOW, is a great collection of songs reshaped with Ken’s twang to give them all a fresh but relaxed vibe and a really enjoyable album.
It’s available on May 18th and includes songs from Billy Bragg, The Clash, The Cure, Van Morrison, George Jones and R.E.M. Yeah, you could say it covers some ground. The lead off single is incredibly fitting, a cover of Mad World by Tears For Fears
In the podcast though, he talks about how and why he actually went in to isolation about a year before the rest of us did. The album is a great listen, his story is one of perseverance and I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.
