Elon Musk’s online persona is no stranger to controversy or Ketamine fueled racism, but his latest reaction to a petition in Canada calling for the revocation of his citizenship was as weak-sauce as his attempt to trade a flight attendant a horse for a blow job.

The petition, which has garnered nearly 500,000 signatures, argues that Musk poses a national security threat and a national embarrassment, making him unfit to hold Canadian citizenship. In response, Musk fired off a weak and dismissive tweet: “Canada is not a real country.”

The petition is performative – there’s no way Canada will strip Elon of Citizenship, and Elon knows that. Yet, it REALLY pissed him off because Elon likes to be liked, and he also categorically hates Canada.

Musk’s disdain for Canada isn’t a recent development. It seems to run in the family. His grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, fled Canada after World War II after organizing Nazi rallies and fundraisers, making Elon’s general hostility toward the country a multi-generational tradition.

Canada, in turn, has been one of the few places that consistently calls Musk out on his nonsense. While American tech bros still idolize him as a visionary, Canadians have kept him in check:

• Grimes Drama: After dating Canadian musician Grimes, Musk became a frequent target of jokes in Canadian media and social circles.
• His Shady Business Tactics: Tesla has faced numerous labor violations and whistleblower complaints, which Canadians—known for being pro-union—find particularly repugnant.
• His Anti-Free Speech Hypocrisy: While Musk brands himself as a “free speech absolutist,” he frequently bans and suppresses critics on X (formerly Twitter), including those who call out his history of misinformation and platform mismanagement.

Musk’s response to the petition was underwhelming at best. Instead of a witty or cutting remark, all he could muster was “Canada is not a real country”—a weak, uninspired attempt at dismissal. If anything, it only reinforced how thin-skinned he is.

For a man who prides himself on being the voice of the “intellectual elite,” his response was anything but sharp. The comment was lazy, uninspired, and devoid of substance, much like his recent business ventures (hello, Cybertruck, and Twitter losing 90% of its value.

Tesla’s not far behind… Musk’s hatred for Canada seems as fragile as his ego. The petition might not succeed in stripping his citizenship. Still, it has proved that Canada remains one of the few places that sees Musk for what he is—an insecure billionaire desperate for validation looking to inseminate as many chicks at work as he can before he dies on Mars.

Fingers crossed that Mars mission happens in the next 2 weeks.
