Expect John Tavares To Be Named Leaf Captain On Monday

Johnny T.
It’s done and was planned this entire time.
The team wanted the dust to settle and now it has, John Tavares will become the 22nd captain in Leaf history.
Our source (someone we know but we have to say source because it makes it look legit :).
Let’s face it, John Tavares Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs sounds pretty fucking awesome and would’ve blown our minds to hear before last year.

Good news: our source isn’t @joeyferg either.
Tavares was Captain in New York for 5 years before choosing Toronto and then leading the team in goal scoring. How is there any doubt that Toronto native Tavares should be the Captain????

‘In the end it was Rielly or Tavares. Tavares is from Toronto, there are pictures of him in Leaf bedsheets, He sacrificed a lot of money to come here too.” He’s more than a model Torontonian, led the team in scoring and he leads by extreme example. There’s really no choice and no disrespect to Reilly.’
There you go. not one person will argue with the chain of command. Not to mention Tavares is signed through 2055.
Tavares – C
Matthews, Marner, Reilly – A
Put aside all this Matthews stuff…. 91 is the obvious choice to wear the C. Leaf fans are spoiled when John Tavares isn’t your clear cut choice as Captain. Such a great pro and leader. @MapleLeafs pic.twitter.com/PA85d9swaP

Matthews gets a few years to grow up and Marner pulls himself away from certain people. Reilly gets to be the C in training and if I cared this blog would be longer.
