Fantasy Football: Don’t Waste A Premium Pick on Saints’ Alvin Kamara

Apr 21, 2022

New Orleans Saints’ running back Alvin Kamara is one of the best running backs in the NFL, and his name alone will attract fantasy owners to use a high draft pick to take Kamara. However, there are a lot of reasons why you should avoid selecting Kamara.

Kamara was arrested in Las Vegas during the Pro Bowl and according to FantasyPros, this is could have a significant impact on Kamara’s fantasy status

According to the report, a victim was hospitalized on Saturday evening after allegedly being battered at a nearby nightclub. An investigation identified Kamara as the suspect. He was located and taken into custody on Sunday, then subsequently transported to the Clark County Detention Center. Kamara was in Las Vegas this week for the league’s Pro Bowl festivities. He played for the NFC team on Sunday, hauling in four of six targets for 23 yards. The five-time Pro Bowler and former Offensive Rookie of the Year is a perennial RB1 option in fantasy leagues. He totaled 1,337 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns through 13 games in 2021.”

Let’s also not forget Sean Payton stepped down as the head coach of the Saints, and New Orleans took a long time to show Jameis Winston any sort of commitment. Though Kamara is set up to be the focal point of the offense, there just seems like there’s too much stacked up against him.

In the video editorial below, I discuss Kamara, and why I wouldn’t spend a high valuable pick on Alvin Kamara.
