Video: Former Red Wing Johan Franzen Said Mike Babcock Caused His PTSD And Is ‘The Worst Person I’ve Ever Met’

Shocker – another human comes out and calls Mike Babcock a terrible human being.
Former Red Wing Johan Franzen is the latest, as ‘The Mule’ gave an interview in his native Sweden to Expressen.se and even though it’s in Swedish, it’s heartbreaking.
Franzen: “I get chills when I think about. That thing against Nashville in the playoffs. It was rough, scary and shocking. But that was just one of a hundred things he did. Just the tip of the iceberg”

Franzen: ”He attacked other players first. The nice players. Those who does not say much. When they disappeared his energy went over to me and I got my run. It was verbal attacks, he said horrible things.”

Franzen: ”He was a specialist on handling the media. He creates teams that are hard to bet, you can’t take that from him. But he makes his players very anxious, they are scared to make mistakes and his teams seldom make it past the first round”

When the NHL had enough of Mike Keenan, he went to Russia to coach. Has the NHL had enough of Mike Babcock? Valid question, given the state of the league at the moment and the slew of details that keep surfacing from prior and current players.
Here’s the full interview from Franzen, and be warned it’s a tough one…It’s also in Swedish. The pain on his face a decade later tells us what kind of special asshole Babs is, not was.

All the best to the Mule.
And fuck Babcock.
Every new story just cements his legacy in a bad way, and I don’t hate it.
