GAME DAY REPORT: GAME 26 — MAPLE LEAFS at FLAMES

Toronto Maple Leafs (15-9-1) vs Calgary Flames (13-9-1)
9:00PM EST — TSN-4
Cowboy…… Cowboy
Well, I’m packin up my game and I’ma head out west ,where real women come equipped wit’ scripts and fake b…………oops that’s L.A.!!!
The Leafs head out West on a 3 game road trip starting tonight in Calgary. Our Leafs, 2nd in the Atlantic Division and 7-2-1 in their last 10 take on the Flames who sit 3rd in the Pacific with a record of 6-3-1 over their last 10.
It should be a solid test for the Leafs who despite sporting a winning record seem to have difficulty bringing everyone together at the same time and from start to finish. They showed signs of a better team game vs Washington Saturday but unfortunately Macarena didn’t have a very solid outing. Tough to do when you’re getting sniped by Ovechkin who has been inspired by a young man with Cancer who he promised a goal. Ok, that’s awesome OV but did it need to be a hatty ya prick? That was a great story. Best wishes to the kid and nice to see him have a great night even at our expense.
Calgary presents the type of opposition this team seems to have trouble with-a big bodied, heavy, defensively strong team. If the Leafs are to have success tonight and looking further down the road, they are going to have to learn to recover pucks, and win battles in the dirty areas of the ice. Perimeter play, no look quick touch passes and half hearted stick swipes
aren’t going to cut it.
