GAME DAY REPORT: GAME 28 – MAPLE LEAFS @ CANUCKS

Toronto Maple Leafs (17-9-1) at Waaaaaaa-Vancouver Canucks (12-10-4)
7: OOPM EST HNIC – CBC
The Maple Leafs continue their three-game western swing tonight in Vancouver……..well….this afternoon for all the whiny babies out on the left coast. The Maple Leafs currently hold 5th place in the NHL with 35 points in 27 games. They will try to finish a very successful road trip with a win against the mired in the middle Canucks who currently sit 18th in league with 28 points in 26 games.
Of course, none of this matters once you turn on the game. We all know what that will consist of. It will be a night full of “Daniel” and “Henrik” being uttered relentlessly and out of context of what is happening in the game. The lusty, longing plaudits of Canucks A-1 shoe polisher Jim Hughson and his trusty sidekick Craig Simpleton will be relentless. The two will be so giddy to be calling the game of their beloved Canucks I am sure it will make you want to smash your television and puke at the same time rendering a decision on which to do first impossible. Please CBC, Rogers, whomever, do Jim a solid and assign him to ALL Canuck games. Sorry sidetracked….
The highlight of the days leading up to tonight’s (read today’s for the whiners) contest hasn’t been about head to head battles of star players. No. Or line matchups. Nope. Or special teams. Negatory. Instead the big stories have hit upon the high point of being a Canucks fan. Your claim to fame has now been outed across the National Sports Media as a bunch of sniveling, petulant children particularly when it comes to anything Maple Leafs.
Well, guess what? We don’t GAF. Cry your little hearts out, your tears are delicious. Enjoy the 4pm game against Auston Matthews and his Toronto Maple Leafs
Speaking of Auston Matthews, he looked to be getting back to form after some time off due to undisclosed injury. While not big signs there were subtle plays that indicate Auston may be close to being back to his usual super human self.
