GAME DAY REPORT: LEAFS @ BLUE JACKETS

Nov 23, 2018

For the second time in a week we’ll witness the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Leafs took home a 4-2 win after their last meeting. A come from behind victory that saw them fall back 2-0 after the 1st period.

Nylander watch continues and by now most expect that even if a deal was reached today they would wait until the Dec. 1st deadline to sign. By doing so they would take full advantage of the years 2-(insert contract length here) cap hit loophole that comes with signing RFA holdouts. In the meantime I’m still going to watch the game with trade targets in mind, because this is fun for me. David Savard and Josh Anderson have both popped up in rumours as of late. For what it’s worth I believe they are nothing more than rumours.

This should be a spirited affair as the Blue Jackets will definitely want revenge after dropping a game they likely believed was theirs for the taking. I know John Tortorella thought so, and he made his view clear in the post game interview. I love watching that guy coach other teams. He would be a little too opinionated to coach in Toronto though.

The Blue Jackets posted video of his post-game comments (as they always do) in their entirety, for reference: https://t.co/iSiNc2ccg0
