GAME DAY REPORT: MAPLE LEAFS AT SABRES (7pm–TSN 4)

Mar 15, 2018

Game Day !!!!

After a massive come from behind victory last night, the Leafs travel down the QEW to take on the terrible Buffalo Sabres.

Terrible yes, but always play the Leafs tough.  Always.

While the Sabres will be without Jack Eichel, the Leafs are now missing starting goaltender (UBI) Frederik Andersen, #1C Auston Matthews, and  top 4 defenseman Nikita Zaitsev.

So things are looking bleak for the Blue and White?

Nope.  Leafs will have Curtis McElhinney, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, Nazem Kadri, Morgan Rielly, Jake Gardiner and the list goes on…..and on.

Mitch Marner is continuing to be a dominant force in the absence of Auston Matthews.

The #MapleLeafs have missed Auston Matthews in 17 games this season, but have still gotten by just fine- in big part due to Mitch Marner’s ability to pick up the slack offensively pic.twitter.com/sovrqcuOIl

One lineup note of interest, Matt Martin will draw in to replace Andreas Johnsson.  With all of the prior fireworks between Kadri and Risto (something) it does make sense to dress Martin.  Sabres have nothing to lose, and would love to inflict some pain.

Leafs announced that Garret Sparks has been called up from the Toronto Marlies while Andersen is recouping.

The @MapleLeafs announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Garret Sparks from the @TorontoMarlies (AHL) on an emergency basis. #TMLtalk
