After much anticipation, Alek Manoah will finally be making his debut for the Toronto Blue Jays this Wednesday against the New York Yankees. Let’s. Freakin’. Go.

In case you didn’t know, Manoah has been absolutely tearing it up in Buffalo. He made three starts, giving up just 1 (one) gahdamn run across 18 innings. Good lord. A 0.50 ERA is impressive as shit, but then factor in that he had 27 strikeouts and allowed just 5 walks and 7 hits and it’s even more mindblowing. 27 punchies and a 0.55 WHIP in 18 innings is bonkers. He’s got big league stuff that’s for sure.

This kid’s been such a stud that even though he’s only thrown 35 innings has a professional ball player it’s hard to deny that we wanna see him in the Majors. He’s been too good to ignore. Sure, the claims that he’s way too inexperienced to be getting his big-league callup are warranted, but let’s just see what the kid can do.

His time in the Minors lasted less time than the Blue Jays spent blowing leads this past week, but he has a track record of shoving wherever he toes the rubber. Manoah was godly in college at West Virginia, which is why the Jays drafted him 11th overall in the 2019 amateur draft. He racked up over 200 innings at WVU and isn’t shy of the limelight. He seeks it.

The Blue Jays’ #5 prospect amidst a LOADED farm system is set to make his MLB debut Wednesday, and it won’t be an easy task going up against the New York Yankees in their little league-sized ballpark. But I’m as confident in this kid as he is in himself, and that makes me even more confident. Plus, even if he’s “too young” or “too inexperienced” to face big league hitting, wouldn’t you much rather watch him out there instead of Ross Stripling or Anthony Kay? I sure do. This kid’s got moxie flowing through his veins and his strikeout stuff should translate to the bigs. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are gonna combine for five k’s against Manoah and won’t know what hit them. It’s Manoah season baby.
