Let me help you out when it comes to trying to decipher the news you read about where Canada is when it comes to vaccinating Canadians. If you read anything that congratulates the federal government on their brilliance re the vaccine rollout, it’s a propaganda piece from a liberal backer. If you read anything about your provincial rollout, going better or worse than the federal plan, it’s relative.
Canada gambled and lost purchasing vaccines from suppliers, delaying the vaccine rollout by 3-4 months. During that time, the Government didn’t bother planning or coordinating a vaccine rollout with their provincial counterparts.
The provincial response has been to welcome federal help or reject it depending on the province you live in. Some premiers, like Ontario’s Doug Ford, have politicized the process, setting efforts to vaccinate back even further.
So while James Gunn’s country might be a wasteland of racists and political unrest, they have so many vaccines, they’re closing up vaccination sites early because they’ve vaccinated everyone already.
