Forecast For Week 9 in The CFL

Griff Bordignon Jul 31, 2024

We did it, it took 8 weeks but we had a 4-0 week in the CFL betting and I’m looking to go 4-0 betting once again, so let’s get started.

Winnipeg VS BC

Oh how the mighty have fallen, Winnipeg is a broken team that once was the gold standard of the CFL and is 2-6 on the season and who knows if they will ever turn things around. Then enter the BC Lions who are the cream of the league’s crop and have been near perfect, except for week 1 @ Toronto and two weeks ago @ Calgary where they missed a step, but after a bad game, I am fully buying into the bounce back on this Thursday night in Winnipeg. But I don’t want the money line bet, I want the whole spread. BC -4.5 at -115 is my lock of the week.

Fun Bet: Vernon Adams Jr O 323.5 Yds at -114.

Hamilton VS Montreal

Back home and having won two straight, who are these Tabbies? Bo Levi Mitchell seems to have his swagger back as they look to regain momentum in the East. Then Montreal, look I don’t know if Fajardo will be starting as of this writing as he came off the 6-game injured list but that doesn’t mean he will start in Steel Town come Friday night. With all that being said, I have to keep this short and sweet, I don’t know if Hamilton will win but I do like them to cover the spread for a third straight week. Hamilton +4.5 at -102 is the bet for this Friday night clash.

Fun Bet: Bo Levi Mitchell O 290.5 Yds at -114.

Saskatchewan VS Edmonton

Oh The Elks, the lowly lowly Elks. 0-7 and no end in sight. Saskatchewan is 5-2 and coming off a bad loss to Montreal where QB Shea Patterson has gone under his yards for 2 weeks now. Back to the Elks, Tre area, Enter Tre Ford, Edmonton’s new starter at QB came in relief last week and looked good in doing so. Edmonton has realized that Tre is the guy and can get the job done. This may come back to bite me as it did two weeks ago but Tre Ford at QB, has me going all crazy as he looks to set the CFL world on fire. Edmonton ML at +202 is the bet.

Fun Bet: Tre Ford ATD at +115.

Calgary VS Toronto

When looking at betting lines, you always have to look at betting lines that make you go, huh that doesn’t look right. That worked last week and I am applying that same logic to this game. The host Calgary team has won two straight VS Toronto at home but was straight-up embarrassed in Ottawa last Friday night, and you have 4-3 Toronto coming into Cowtown looking to go 5-3 and keep pace with Ottawa and Montreal in the East. Now the huh that doesn’t look right part the betting line. Toronto is an underdog for this game and Ryan Dinwiddie thrives in that role. Toronto +3.5 at -104 is the bet.

Fun Bet: Ka’Deem Carey ATD at -115.

Hi, my name is Griff and I'm a complete sports nut. I love to play sports, watch sports and most importantly bet on sports too. If I'm not watching or betting on sports, you can find me on the golf course, between the pipes as your average beer league goaltender. Although sports take up most of my life, I also love spending time with my two dogs, streaming usually a 90's Simpson's or attempting to read more books.
