Touchdown Treasures: Here Are Week 5’s Hidden CFL Betting Gems
Well, that sucked.
June we ended with a 1-3 week, not ideal but what can you do?
July is a new month and this week is a special week for yours truly, so let’s get on with the bets.
Saskatchewan VS Toronto
Thursday night is an interesting match-up, with Corey Mace and AJ Ouellette going up against their old squad at home as Toronto visits the Prairies. Now for the game, on one side you have a Toronto side looking to bounce back after a less-than-stellar outing VS Montreal and you have Saskatchewan, 3-0 coming off their bye week but no Trevor Harris for 6 games and no Shawn Bane Jr for this game may hamper the Riders. If Saskatchewan wins, it will be because of AJ Ouellette. However, I think Toronto’s D-Line can stuff AJ and prevent him from running it. Instead of one bet, I am parlaying Toronto ML + U 48.5 at +155.
Fun Bet: Damonte Coxie O 3.5 Recs -114.
Winnipeg VS Ottawa
Winnipeg is 0-4, not the team or start we wanted or thought we’d see a month ago. Ottawa on the other end of the is 2-1 and Dru Brown showed us last week that he can close out in the big spot vs Hamilton to also see the Ti-Cats go 0-4. These two teams have had battles in the past, and on this Friday night in Winnipeg, I expect the same. Now for the game itself, this is the bet where I could make myself look like a complete fool, but CFL trends indicate that the team coming off an emotional win loses the next week, welcome to the WIN-ipeg, Winnipeg -2.5 at -110.
Fun Bet: Brady Oliveira O 57.5 Rsh Yds -114.
Montreal VS Calgary
There is no stopping these Alouettes, 4-0 and looking damn near unstoppable and perfect, the ways they beat you won’t be pretty but they are ready to beat anyone and everyone they face. Montreal is also 3-1 ATS. Calgary like Ottawa is 2-1 and coming off an emotional OT win VS Winnipeg just last week and to quote David Morassutti from my most recent podcast, Calgary is punching above its weight class. This day is the best day of my life and this bet isn’t losing on this day—Montreal -9.5 at -115, Lock of the week.
Fun Bet: Tyson Philpot O 79.5 Rec Yds -114.
Hamilton VS BC
The cats are alive and well, sort of. Hamilton is 0-4 and BC is 3-1. Both teams had opposite ends of the spectrum as BC walked off Edmonton and Hamilton was walked off by Ottawa. Hamilton is a team in shambles as they are 0-4 and fired their special teams coordinator. BC 3-1 and looking like the Grey Cup favourites in the west winning. 3 in a row after losing opening day to Toronto. This is the kind of game that I honestly expect two things on a Sunday night, fireworks and for both teams to leave everything out on the field, especially as Hamilton looks to avoid 0-5. The bet is O 53.5 at -110.
Fun Bet: Vernon Adams Jr O 320.5 Pass Yds -114.
Good luck and happy betting everyone.

Hi, my name is Griff and I'm a complete sports nut. I love to play sports, watch sports and most importantly bet on sports too. If I'm not watching or betting on sports, you can find me on the golf course, between the pipes as your average beer league goaltender. Although sports take up most of my life, I also love spending time with my two dogs, streaming usually a 90's Simpson's or attempting to read more books.
