I am absolutely appalled by the actions of some Edmonton Oilers fans over the past 36 hours.

There is no place for this type of behavior in hockey.  We need to be better to one another. So what we look different, act different, eat different foods, etc. It’s the diversity on this planet that makes it so beautiful.

So your team got swept, GET OVER IT!

It happens every year to at least one team. It does not give you the right to publicly attack one of your teams players. This is a game for entertainment purposes. And it’s stuff like this, that makes hockey less enjoyable. ESPECIALLY on social media.

So grow up, be better and knock off the bullshit racist crap!

Rivalry aside, I like Ethan Bear and the way he plays the game. He seems like a great young man. He absolutely does not deserve the sickening racist comments he’s been receiving today. Disgusting people taking their “fandom” of a game way too far.

A couple years ago I had mentioned to a grade 5 student that I had gone to the oiler game on the weekend. She said “omg so you got to see Ethan Bear play?!” I told her that I sure did!
