I thought we’d ease into the hate tweets.  It tells a better story.

News broke today that 88 million dollars over 8 years wasn’t palatable during our podcast today and I skimmed right by it.  Maybe I was focused on the moment, I dunno.  The more I thought about that in terms of regular humans, the angrier I got.

Let’s establish a couple of simple premises to work from:

1) You cannot compare Mitch to Auston. Different players.  You can’t compare them in terms of production because Matthews is yet to play a full season.  Unless you can operate in an alternative universe like the Stranger Things kids or that creepy Netflix show DARK.

Regular people don’t have 88 million dollar offers after 4 years after joining the workforce

Regular people want their raise to keep up with inflation.

Regular people are reasonable.

It’s really hard to take Mitch’s side here.  It’s even harder when you know it’s entirely his Dad’s fault that we’re here.

The Marner’s have refused 88 million cause it’s 4.2 < Matthews deal if Matthews was over 8 which it isn’t so safe to say the Marner’s are greedy AF because it’s not regular people money. It’s absurd.

If you wanted to question the sanity of the average Leaf Psycho like the ones I troll like a baby in a candy shop, we basically would spoon in agreement that Mitch Marner looks like a greedy little prick NO-ONE can identify with.

Mitch wasn’t at the Leafs annual golf thingy today if you care.  I personally don’t as my vision is cloudy with the bullshit which is this unfortunate news 90 million over 8 years isn’t enough money to play for the Leafs.  He’s greedy or wants to leave.

Mitch Marner looks very bad here.  Like, awful.  I hope the kid’s rep survives it but as it sits now, it looks like I was right all along.  I guess.
