It’s already started! Pierre Poilievre’s former campaign Manager, Ontario Proud’s Jeff Ballingall, attacking judge named to head foreign interference inquiry

Jason Pugh Sep 7, 2023

It’s finally happening. After calling for months for a public inquiry on foreign interference Poilievre and other parties finally got what they wanted.

Justice Marie-Josée Hogue to lead a highly anticipated public inquiry into foreign interference.

Quebec judge to lead foreign-interference inquiry, first report due next February

“She will be able to undertake her important work with the support of all recognized parties in the House of Commons,” LeBlanc told reporters Thursday morning on Parliament Hill.
LeBlanc, who is also the minister of public safety, said the inquiry will examine meddling by China, Russia and other foreign states and non-state actors.

“He said the fluently bilingual judge was a consensus choice among the parties, and her rank involves rulings that often establish precedents in Canadian law.”

The fluently bilingual judge was a CONSENSUS choice among the parties.

Andrew Scheer confirmed that the Conservative Party of Canada accepts her appointment and said they’ll be “watching like hawks.”

“While we accept the terms of reference and the nomination of Justice Hogue, conservatives will be watching like hawks to make sure that Canadians get the real answers that they deserve about foreign interference in our democracy.”

Perfect. All parties agreed that Hogue is the right person for the job.

Time to get to work to get to the bottom of foreign interference. Not just interference from China in the last two elections but also from Russia or any other country or entity.

How could anyone in their right mind have a problem with that?

At 12:09 PM I posted this:

This was a joke about how Pierre Poilievre attacked former Governor General David Johnston.

Others quickly pointed out that she was appointed to the appeals court by Harper and had previously donated to the Conservative Party of Canada.

Well, being a lawyer and judge, she would have donated to some party at some point. So, if anything, this means Conservatives should like her even more, right?

Then I started getting replies like this:

*Sigh*

Of course.

In a move that should surprise absolutely nobody, Pierre Poilievre’s former campaign manager, Ontario Proud’s Jeff Ballingall, has already begun attacking Justice Marie-Josée Hogue.

So I posted my tweet at 12:09 PM and at 12:13 Jeff Ballingall’s Ontario Proud posted this:

So. Damn. Predictable.

So the Conservatives, at least today, are saying that they approve of Hogue’s appointment.

But here comes the astroturfing, folks!

Groups like Ontario Proud, Rebel, True North, etc. will blow this WAY out of proportion. They won’t stop screaming about it from the top of their lungs. Then, a CPC MP will (if it hasn’t happened already) tweet about it.

That’ll mean it’s real news! So it’ll have to be addressed by mainstream media!

Then, Poilievre will be asked to comment about it. Shortly afterwards, he’ll call into question her neutrality and the legitimacy of her appointment.

Paul is bang on here:

Oh, this will be a full-on CPC rage clown meltdown. It’s just a matter of time.

Hey, Pierre Poilievre. Did you ever get your security clearance there, bud?
