“It’s definitely a different type of record…” Rival Sons Are Working On A New Album!

Rival Sons singer Jay Buchanan was recently a guest of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania radio station 93.3 WMMR and gave an update on the band’s new studio album, “We’re just taking our time with this record. I think that this year has taught us it’s okay to slow down — it’s okay to slow down and take your time.”

Buchanan went on to say, “I feel like pretty much with this record, it’s kind of like we’re right in the middle of it. It’s definitely a different type of record. We’re a different type of band now than we were when we released the ‘Feral Roots’ album back in 2019.”

Meanwhile, Rival Sons are playing a two-night livestream event on June 19 & June 26 (11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm PT / 8:00 pm PT) called “Pair Of Aces”, live from Catalina Casino on Santa Catalina Island. You can grab tickets here.

They’ll be playing their debut album, “Before The Fire” (’09), in its entirety on June 19th and their self-titled EP, “Rival Sons” (’10) on June 26th.

Rival Sons has been on a tear as of late – their album “Feral Roots” got a 2020 Grammy nomination for “Best Rock Album” AND a nomination for “Best Rock Performance” for “Too Bad”.

This band rules. Simple math. Can’t wait to hear what they come up with!!
