John Gibbons & Jose Bautista Don’t Hold Back About Rangers Rivalry Calling The Texas “Gutless”

John Gibbons and Jose Bautista made it crystal clear how they felt about the Texas Rangers. “They were gutless.”

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to the Gibby Show Weekly, you’re missing out. Former Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons hosts a weekly podcast where he hosts current and former Blue Jays players, which is incredible. If you’re trying to imagine what a John Gibbons podcast would sound like, it’s precisely what you’re thinking.

In last week’s episode, Gibbons was setting up the postseason, and Gibbons hosted Jose Bautista. The conversation was fantastic, and I learned a couple of things. One point that Gibbons made and Bautista confirmed was; Jose didn’t like off days because Bautista knew that fans bought tickets to see him play. He was passionate about being on the field but also respected the fans. It was remarkable that Major League ball players thought about the fans.

The most intriguing part of the conversation was Gibbons and Bautista discussing the Blue Jays’ rivalry with the Texas Rangers between 2105 and 2016. Gibby and Bautista didn’t hold back, and both called the Rangers gutless when discussing Bautista’s famous fight with Rougned Odor.

The episode was Gibbons’ version of Inside Baseball. Bautista revealed some of the hatred Toronto felt towards the Rangers. After the Rangers went up 2-0 in 2015, Blue Jays players found the Rangers’ behavior disrespectful. Both teams’ on-field and off-field actions led to a rivalry that Jays’ fans will never forget.
