Jonesing for a Trade

The slow days of the NFL season are upon us and you, like myself,  might be Jonesing for a trade!

The magical post-June 1st window in the NFL, is mere hours away and speculation surrounding Julio Jones and where he will be traded to is at an all-time high. Many teams are rumored to have significant interest: the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, and the San Francisco 49ers are among the front runners.

The price tag? Peter King of NBC Sports has said the Atlanta Falcons would accept a 2022 second-round pick, with the condition being no conditions attached to the pick.

The Falcons were initially looking for a first-round pick, but Jones’ recent call in, on Undisputed, to Shannon Sharpe, has put Atlanta in a tough position. Julio has said he is “out of there” when asked about his future in Atlanta. The asking price surely took a hit after those comments, as well as putting Falcons GM Terry Fontenot in a tough position. Salvage some value on a long-time superstar or hold on and hope to stir up a bidding war?

Surely any team getting Julio Jones instantly becomes a better team, looking to make an immediate run at the Lombardi trophy in the upcoming season.

Would you give up the assets to acquire Julio and take on his 15+ million dollar cap hit for this season to make a run? Maybe or maybe not. But one thing is for sure, NFL fans are Jonesing for a Trade!
