Justin Bieber Thinks The New Tim Hortons Coffee Lids Are A Damn Outrage

I love the new Biebs.  He’s honest, open, relatable and he fucking HATES the new Tim Horton’s coffee lid as much as we all do.

The ‘peel’ is slowly being replaced by the ‘pucker/peel’ and the problems are aplenty.

The coffee or tea ‘dribbles’ into your mouth with the pucker/peel lids as opposed to the gradual pour from the old peel lids.  That’s what Justin’s trying to tell us with his ‘Damn Outrage’ Tweet.

I did some research on these lids and Tim’s brass said they spent TWO YEARS developing the perfect hot beverage lid so you better believe this shot across the bow pisses their lid team right off.

Source: “We took more than two years to develop the new lid,” said Macedo in a glowing press release, “conducting 12 research studies, serving over 30 million beverages and working with thousands of guests to help us design it.” The result, the company says, is an improved lid that reduces both spills and Tims’ carbon footprint by utilizing polypropylene, a 100 per cent recyclable plastic that the company says every franchise will happily collect for recycling.

 

Two Years?  It took two years, 12 research studies and 30 million opionions to come up with a lid that already exists? That’s amazing.
To me, it looks like they slapped a Tim’s Logo on a Starbucks lid.

At least the first version did.  The second version is the one that’s got everyone’s long underwear in a bunch.

The dreaded ‘Pucker/Peel’ lid leaks and attacks people with hot coffee when they attempt to open it which is one of the millions of issues people seem to be having opening their new lids.

Listen, if you have an issue opening up a coffee lid, you have bigger problems than opening up a coffee lid and tweeting about it makes you a bigger stiff. What Bieber is talking about is the ingestion rate of the liquid being affected by the lid and that’s the issue.
The old lids leaked like a bastard too and it was always hit and miss peeling the lid back evenly for an even sip.
But it flowed properly. This one doesn’t.
Looks like Tim Horton’s should have just let Justin design the new lids. Could have saved themselves two years and 30 million pointless conversations.
