(Former) Kasabian singer Tom Meighan pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-fiancee Vikki Ager a day after it was announced he was quitting the band due to “personal issues”.
Meighan admitted to the assault today (July 7) at Leicester Magistrates’ Court.
Video showed Meighan striking Ager and dragging her by her ankles into the back garden of their home during the coronavirus lockdown on April 9.
And, of course, he’d been drinking.
The court heard Ager suffered bruising to her knees, left elbow, outer ankle, big toe and neck.
Meighan has been sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work by a district judge.
Regarding his decision to leave the band, here’s what the band posted yesterday on their social media channels:
Kasabian has released six albums since 2004, five have reached number one in the UK.
Is this the end of the band?
