Kid Rock Took An Assault Rifle To Three Cases Of Bud Light To Protest…Budweiser’s Inclusive Marketing Campaign?

Apr 5, 2023

I was never a beer guy, but my co-host, Lochlin Cross, is. Bud Light is his drink, so it probably gave him a seizure watching “Kid” Rock unload a hail of bullets into three perfectly delicious cases of Bud Light.

Robert’s (“Kid’s” real name is Robert Ritchie) issue stems from Budweiser sending a case of Bud Light to trans activist Dylan Mulvaney with her likeness. I know. Horrible, right? Putting the face of a human being on a can of beer to celebrate that human being? the fucking nerve of Big Beer.

Everything Robert does is performative, and you can tell because he’s a terrible shot. He missed two full stationary cases of beer 25 feet away, so you know THAT part was performative. His love of MAGA, the trailer park persona, the FTW mentality, that’s not the Bob Ritchie I met 25 years ago. That guy was inclusive. Lesbians, blacks, whites, Hispanics, and little people were part of his band and crew for decades, and he proudly talked about the kaleidoscope of people he worked with. Privately, he’s a pretty inclusive dude (at least he was). Publicly, he can’t sell tickets to his targeted base if he doesn’t shoot things over inclusive beer cans or tell Oprah to lick his nuts in drunken stage rants.

Robert just announced a series of “VİP Escort Snowflakes” tour dates, so this is some exclusive micro-content to get his fan base excited about the idea of paying $1200 to see a grandfather sing Bawitaba in a field in some backwoods state in July.

But yes. We get it. You don’t like trans people if it means you’ll sell more tickets to your Fish Fry in July. Message received.
