Leafs Exploring Nylander Trade?

Nov 16, 2019

So much for that experiment, huh.

Word yesterday the Leafs are actively trying to trade their way out of the mess which is the 2019-2020 season with Nylander being the biggest trade chip.

I wish I cared enough about the 1st world problems the Toronto Maple Leafs are experiencing. At the start of the season, I said the Leafs wouldn’t make the playoffs.  I also picked them to win the cup, but that was prior to the first 20 games of the season.

I’m not alone.  Kyle Dubas can’t tweet a charity event without being reminded how soft this team is and Nylander might be the poster boy for soft.  Skilled AF, but soft.  Especially in his own end for 7.5 million.

According to my ‘Source’ (I love saying that, btw), the Leafs are looking to trade Nylander and his contact for a ‘Darnell Nurse’ type D man and a forward who hits other players.  Anyone who isn’t scared of corners would do, really.

Ideally, a Tom Wilson clone would be fine but after watching last nights drubbing at the hands of the Bruins, I’d be good with a winger who isn’t scared of Brad Marchand.

Toronto should start by trading Babcock for Sheldon Keefe first, then move Nylander.  Or not.  I’m enjoying this 9-8-4 (9-12) record more than I thought I would.
